Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a type of massage that encourages the natural drainage of the lymph. The lymphatic system works closely with your immune system. Due to stress, chronic illness, or diet your body might be overwhelmed with toxins to process.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage helps to move lymph back to the lymph nodes where it will be processed and excess water and toxins are expelled. A series of light repetitive strokes, gliding, compression, and cupping techniques are used with the use of specific oils and the use of suction cups, which allows lymph to move easily through the tissues and the lymph nodes. MLD follows a specific sequence over the body so lymph isn’t trapped anywhere, making sure every area is treated with care.

Lymphatic drainage is an important tool to keep the lymphatic system in good condition for optimum health. The main task of the lymphatic system is to keep the immune system operating well while cleaning and nourishing all the cells in the body, no matter what their function. A poorly functioning lymphatic system can affect every part of the body.
